Is my birth certificate needed to invite my parents on visitor visa? Isn't my SSC certificate showing date of birth and both parents name enough?

Hi,
I got RFE on Advance Parole requesting proof that I have complied with NSEERS.
All I know is I went for Special Registeration back in 2003 when it initially started and citizens of specific countries were required to go for that special registeration. The immigration officer stamped my I-94 and wrote a FIN# on my passport and I-94.
Last time I travelled out of US was back in May 2001 for couple of weeks.
Now got this RFE any idea what do I need to submit.

My wife is planning to travel overseas for 3 months and return on AP. Her status is AoS(dependent) as she quit working on H1 a few months ago. Any experience using AP for such long stays outside the country? Please share your experiences.

FP has nothing to do with the EAD or AP.
It is a security check as part of 485 processing where you are checked for a criminal background.

Hi,
I'm presently in J-2 visa and my husband is having J-1 visa.
We both are Indian Nationals. My husband applied for J-1 visa when he was in Germany.
It is mentioned in my husband's Visa clearly that "Two Year rule does NOT apply".
3 months later, I applied for J-2 from India with his visa documents.
In my visa also, it is mentioned that "Bearer is NOT subject to section 212(E). Two Year rule does NOT apply".
Now, we both want to apply for H-1B visa seperately. I want to know whether do we need to apply for H-1B waiver?
It is very much confusing since we are Indian nationals, the two year rule applies. But at the same time, as he was in in Germany while applying, it does not apply as mentioned in the visa.
Please clarify. Thanks in advance.

Friends,
With only 3 weeks left in Sep 2008 (keeping in mind that my PD is current since Aug-01), I have decided to contact DHS Ombudsman and Congressman for help.
But I dont know how to start.
I read the posting from googler.

Is that number provided still valid or is that fax number?
Does any one know?
Also, how do I go about contacting Congressman? I can look up their address but dont know how to make a first move? should I write to him directly or should I call his office and explain over phone?

I am working on H1 and my current H1 petition is valid until April 6th 2011.
My visa (stamp) expired in Nov 2009.
I have my new H1 extension petition approved from April 7th 2011- 2014( same employer).
I am going to India early Feb and will going to Hyd/Chennai for visa stamp.
In the visa appointment it is asking for my petition number: which one should I give current or the new extension one. I would like to have my H1 stamped until 2014 so that I can avoid additional trip to consulate.
Please help.

Have you tried calling their office? From what you say, it been more than a month! Call the TX center and if their answer does not satisfy you, lodge an official complaint with the ombudsman's office.

This is the scenario
Company A
I am filing green card with this company based on **FUTURE EMPLOYMENT**
LABOUR APPROVED,I-140 PENDING,PRIORITY DATE : JAN 2009
Company B (Present Employer)
Labor Approved (Priority date : Aug 2009)
Now the question is Can I NOW file 140 with company B before my company A I-140 gets approved...?
In this case will I be able to use my Jan2009 priority date after my pending company-A I-140 gets approved..??
Note: I wanted to file 485 ONLY WITH COMPANY B
Again to summarize, Before my 1st 140 (Company A) gets approved can i apply for 2nd 140 (from company B)and still use 1st company's priority date when filing for 485 with 2nd company (Company B)

Today I got an SLUD on my pending 485 after almost more than a year. Last one was from July, 2008 (address change). Don't understand what exactly is going on. For RFEs are there usually SLUDs before? or just an hard LUD with message change? Anyone in same boat? :confused:

My current AP expires on July 30, 2008. I am planning to apply for renewal in Jan or Feb 2008, which is 6 months prior to expiration. I understand that nowadays it takes more than 3 months for approval.
In case of emergency, Can I travel to India with my current AP while AP renewal petition is pending?.

I sent my I-485 application to USCIS on July 31, 2007. On their website they logged the following message:
"Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
Current Status: Case received and pending.
On September 24, 2007, we received this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case....."
Why is the received date Sep 24, 2007 when the application was most likely received on Aug 1, 2007?

Recently I applied for AP. It was approved on Oct 20, 2009 but when I got the document from USCIS I found that the effective date of my AP is from 12/20/2009 to 12/19/2010. My question is,
1. I want to go to India on 26th Nov and return on 20th December. Some of my friend told me that I can travel between 12/20/2009 to 12/19/2010 not not before 12/20/2009. Is it correct.
2. My understanding was I can go to India before effective date which is 12/20/2009 and can return on or after 12/20/2009. Is this correct.
Please respond as I want to go to India on Nov 26th 2009 due to some emergency.
