Since I was bored at work, I called this number and talked with a rep this morning @10. She told me that they have 76K applications pending for the receipt date as of July 27th. She said this two times thinking me to take on with surprise with this huge number. Yes, of course I am surprised. Is it only 76K apps by July 27th?

I submitted the 485 without the VSC hoping that it will be ready by the time USCIS issue RFE on this. Do you know when we can expect the RFE after the submission?

USCIS scrutinizes H1s from startups/small companies. They might ask you to prove Ability to pay and if the company is still in it's infant stage, this might be difficult.
Do we need to submit any tax docs( for the new company I would be moving to) when we apply for the AC21 or at any later stage??

Didn't get to file GC till 2007 unfortunately...
i think u beat them all hands down.....my story is landed in jan 2004 for M.S.....started job in april 2005.....employer kept delaying GC through various tactics.....finally i revolted in july 2007 at the time of famous fiasco.......still missed the bus as employer cited 30 day rule, waiting period etc etc.......now with a PD of october 2007 in EB 3 India, I have no hope........those of you who ported successfully from EB3 to EB2, please shed some light on how to do that and what does USCIS look for in EB2 applications.......EB2 is my only hope now....its either EB2 or back to india by december for me....

allowing X-number of immigrants is based on a social vision of US!
Too many from one coutnry will dilute that notion of melting pot and make it too much of "sambar" or "wonton soup"....like londonisthan..americans are not so dumb as those brits!!1
The wait is deliberate and will be that way..like it or not!
these debaters are like laloo prasads of india..talk away to oblivion..

I see that a lot of us feel really stuck because of the long GC process and yet we continue to wait. Eventually we all want to have:
1. Freedom to switch jobs
2. Freedom to start businesses
3. Freedom to travel
4. Freedom to have spouse working
I hope and pray that it comes thru sooner than later for all of us. Let's say you get your GC in 1-2-x years. How many years after that would you go back? 2-3 or wait till you get US citizenship? Would you give up the GC after having spent 5+ years waiting and maybe a total of 8-10+ years in US?
For those of us who are thinking that I want to go back eventually, what steps do you plan to take once you get your GC? The reason I raise this question is, it was easy to adapt to a new place when you were young. 6-10 years later (and a couple of kids later :-) what are some of the things you intend to do make your transition homewards easier? Has anyone considered taking on positions with significant travel to India(or your home country) so that you can get accustomed to the lifestyle/work environment/business back home?

You don't want USCIS to make any judgement. Here is an example of their judgement.
