22 Democratic Senators are urging President Obama to stop deporting young people who are likely to be eligible for legalization if the DREAM Act passes. The White House has so far rebuffed such requests with the not very believable excuse that it's hands are tied. That's simply not so and the President's executive authority to solve immigration problems Congress is ignoring has been well documented. Hopefully, the pressure will start to pay off.

Hello Attorneys,
My company recently moved offices to a new location just a few miles from the old location. Its in an adjacent county but with in the same state. We moved from Northbrook, IL to Deerfield IL, does this warrant a change in LCA/H1B?
Please advise.

Most attorneys have historically advised to file ammendment to LCA in case of address change like this. Provided that job conditions same, (which is likely in your case as it is just a few miles away) ammendment should be easy.

This incident opened my eyes and prodded me to move my fat ass to do something about this.
I just made my first contribution of $100 to IV.
Gandhi once said "Make your contribution, however insignificant you think it is. In reality, your contribution makes a huge difference".
Like he said, our little acts when combined become a formidable act and can accomplish a lot. I would suggest others make contributions too - especially now when everyone is excited - before you get back to the usual reticent state. let us not try to ride piggyback on some else's efforts.

As of November 20, 2009, 56,900 H-1B cap subject nonimmigrant visa petitions have been filed with the USCIS. The Service has advised that they will continue to accept petitions until the cap is reached.
Qualifying applicants are still able to petition for an H-1B nonimmigrant visa (http://www.mvplawgroup.com/workvisas.php?action=h1bvisa) under the general cap.

Recently i have joined a new employer after my H1 transfer has been applied, today i have recieved approval notice and its approved until October 15 2007,
were has my previous h1 was valid until October 2008. Please help how should i proceed ?

I think i had put my question in the wrong section before...
If anyone had similar requirements ,I would really appreciate your views on this.
My Company says that the Minimum Job requirement for the my JOB is
5 years of progressive exp in developing applications in JAVA
and there in 2 years of experience in mobile systems.
I have 6 years of progressive experience in Java, and 4 years in mobile systems. Do you anticipate any issues with an EB2 approval.
I always thought eb2 is ms/bs+ 5 years of progressive, i never know it could be bs + 5 years in core skills and 2 years in others.
If anyone had similar requirements ,I would really appreciate your views on this.

I filed my I-485 and I-140 together in July 2007 using substitute labor (priority date) in Eb3 category.
I have Master degree, so can I change my category from EB3 to EB2 and keep the same priority date?

Hello All,
As per the latest regulations, the employer has to pay for all the labor application cost. My employer has agreed to do my green card, but are little hesitant to pay the cost (due to budget constraint). What legal options/adjustments can I make with my employer so that the cost process is not delayed? Thanks in advance.

My friend John Lamb is an in house corporate lawyer by day and an immigration reform activist in his spare time. My Husband was a F1 international student and his F1 service had stopped by his school, but his Visa( China) was expires on July, 2009. Couple months ago, he and I gets married and he is ready for file the green card. But his grandfather is very sick now and he have to go back immedately; however, he didn't file anything at this time. If he having a emergry that need to go back on June , what he can do now? And is he able to come back to US?
